ODU’s Strome College of Business launching Opportunity Discovery Competition

Students can win money for pitching 的想法s, business ventures

Old Dominion University's Strome College of Business, in partnership with the Strome Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, is rewarding problem solving and creative thinking among university students with its inaugural Opportunity Discovery Competition. Submissions for the competition, which will provide winners with up to $2,000 to further a product, 程序, 的想法, business venture or non-profit pitched to a panel of judges, are being accepted through Feb. 5.

Old Dominion University students interested in participating in the Opportunity Discovery Competition should submit a one-page description detailing their opportunity, with finalists chosen from that submission pool. 然后,在2月. 29, finalists will present their proposals to a panel of judges, who will award prize money for concepts they'd like to see move forward.

The competition is open to all current Old Dominion University undergraduate and graduate students, regardless of major.

Executive Summary Qualifications

  • Must be received via email to stromeCEI@666sugar.com by noon on Monday, Feb. 5
  • No more than one page in length, in PDF format
  • File should be labeled: YourTeamName_OpportunityDescription2024.pdf
  • At least a 10-point font, with margins at least 0.5英寸
  • Descriptions longer than one page or late submissions will not be accepted
